Days on It 02:20
Days on It (Gavaghan) The desperation's too on top to mention I love the acclaim, can't stand the attention I've been days on it How I long for those simpler times Just can't get the hang of these awkwarder climes I've been days on it Don't tell me that I'm wrong I memorised the sequence That stuff the other day man It doesn't bear repeating But oh, look at what you started I haven't looked back since the day we parted Time is a great healer! Conspiracy nut talking dirty to Alexa Another unsolicited ill-informed lecture I've been days on it I'm fully costed and up on the table I'm indefatigable willing and able I've been days on it 'Already bad enough' Said the rag and cloth seller Back bent double what a strange little fella All day out there at the barrow Down at Paddy's market Never shifting from the shadows Time is a great healer!

Hanging On 02:58
Hanging On (Gavaghan) When my eyes can't meet anyone that I see The answer to my every question Is whispered by the wind up there in the trees It'll all work out for the best I reckon Hanging on, I can just about make it Hanging on, I can just about take it Hanging on, keeping the discourse light Pretending everything is alright When the performance is weighing down upon me The answer to my every illusion Is whispered by the waves out there in the sea The grandmaster of my own delusion Hanging on, I can just about make it Hanging on, I can just about fake it Hanging on, the conversation trite Pretending everything is alright When I'm sitting there counting up the balance sheet The answer to my every worry Is whistled by the birds out there on the street Take your time lad, don't you hurry Hanging on, I can just about make it Hanging on, I can just about shake it Hanging on, the conversation shite Pretending everything is alright

Recorded in Liverpool

Written and recorded during the strange and unsettling period in which the world find itself, Gavaghan presents two songs of angst, uncertainty, and the hope of psychological survival. At odds with the rapidly changing situation around him but attempting to somehow make sense of it, the lyrics point perhaps to optimism, yet are tinged with a northern cynicism that is clearly hard to shift. The melodies - and harmonies - are, however, as fresh as ever!
